Art from the Heart was a workshop run by Alex and Evie Mowbray. Work was created after being presented with trigger words. The artworks were then interpreted it was very similar to an art crit, however the understanding was on a personal level. There was a spiritual element to the process as an artist I had to go with the initial thoughts almost automatic and try not to allow intellect and problem-solving skills to intervene.
It was not based on art skill it was strongly focused on the emotion. The artworks could even be a stick man or a scribble. It is more about the unknown meaning. The works and interpretations had visible impact on the creators. Exposing encouraging and positive insight into the artists personal situations. I would encourage anyone who is curious to know something of themselves to give one of these sessions a go.
